Dominance

Ambitious, strong-willed, determined

Dominance - Ambitious, strong willed, determined

What drives me? Achieving results. Whether they be commercial objectives for the latest Personalised Plates Queensland launch or personal goals.

I adopt an assertive nature when collaborating with suppliers. I often challenge the status quo and strive for the best solution. I am motivated by projects that produce tangible results; and I thrive in an environment where I have the freedom to make decisions.

“The manager accepts the status quo; the leader challenges it.”

– Warren Bennis

Influence

Friendly, optimistic, polished

Influence - Friendly, optimistic, polished

The 'influence' side of my personality shines through in my creative approach to problem solving. I can't just settle on any solution, it must be memorable, and I think you should enjoy reaching the outcome. I approach each day with a positive attitude and a sense of humour, if I don't enjoy what I'm doing, I won't do my best.

“Common sense and a sense of humour are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humour is just common sense, dancing.”

– William James

Steadiness

Loyal, reliable, consistent

Steadiness - Loyal, reliable, consistent

Being fiercely loyal comes naturally to me, patience does not! The 'S' facet of my personality is a work in progress.

EQ

I've been privileged to work under great leaders, and have learnt to mentor and share openly and honestly on a professional and personal level. I'm committed to further developing my emotional intelligence so I can amplify the best aspects of the different personalities in my team.

Conscientiousness

Perfectionist, systematic, cautious

Conscientiousness - Perfectionist, systematic, cautious

I'm a recovering perfectionist... After leaving the often process-lead world of advertising account service I've worked hard to free myself from thinking within boundaries.

“The fastest way to break the cycle of perfectionism... is to give up the idea of doing it perfectly – indeed to embrace uncertainty and imperfection.”

– Arianna Huffington

As someone who naturally leans towards systems and order, I'm now proud to say I seek out of the box solutions, unencumbered by the small detail and processes that often inhibit best results. I am now committed to commercial curiosity: to staying open minded, exploring multiple view points, identifying and avoiding narrow thinking.1

The Perfectionist Scale

I lead a team who are both tactical and strategic. A team who formulate goals, make and execute plans, and envision outcomes; I believe in developing strategy founded in research insights, however I thrive on facilitating the fast-turnaround change that's vital to staying ahead in an unpredictable retail environment.

“Done is better than perfect.”

– Sheryl Sandberg

Summary

The sum of all these parts?

Summary - The sum of all these parts?

A DISC classified 'Achiever'.

Selling my 'personal brand' within this application process has been personally daunting, however I've always taken on additional responsibilities, eager to learn what I have never done before. I recognise that growth and comfort do not coexist so I look forward to the challenges, experiential learning, networking and knowledge gain the Leaders Programme presents.

If I make it in to the 2015 Leaders Programme?

“Whatever you want in life, other people are going to want it too. Believe in yourself enough to accept the idea that you have an equal right to it.”

– Diane Sawyer
